Can't people buy diapers with WIC and Bridge Cards? NO!
Why don't they just use cloth diapers? It just isn't an option for the families we serve...Some barriers are: no washer/dryer; diapers are not supposed to be washed at public laundromats; cloth are very expensive to start with; most daycare providers insist on a supply of disposable diapers.
The Diaper Alliance (TDA) was founded in 2010 as a part-time hobby, but rapid growth followed as diapers became recognized as an unmet need.
TDA grew into an agency that will distribute over 400,000 diapers in 2014 alone! The diapers are distributed monthly to 37 partner agencies for their clients who are proven to be in financial crisis.
TDA serves a broad area covering Midland, Saginaw, Bay and Clare Counties. It is the only agency that provides this unique service for the entire region!
TDA receives financial support from many of the cities it serves, as well as from foundations, individuals, businesses, faith-based organizations and civic groups.
TDA helps families thrive by:
•Annually collecting, purchasing, and distributing over 400,000 diapers
•Providing adult incontinence supplies to senior citizens and disabled adults •Helping the helpers: Unlike other agencies, TDA distributes directly to over 37 partner agencies who work with families in need for their clients..
•Offering immediate one-time help for families that are without any diapers while they get connected with one of our partner agencies
•Requiring diaper recipients to be registered with a partner agency which leads to the family getting more support and assistance than diapers.
•Partner agencies can use funds that would be allocated for diapers to provide other necessary goods or services.
